Questions from Jade

What classroom pets do you have?
We had a hamster for a class pet but it is now too old to play with so my teacher took it home. We used to have a pet gecko but we let him go back to his owner, Mrs.Blackford. (He was kind of boring anyway)  What classroom pets do you have?

I pledge my head to better thinking, my hands to larger services,
my heart to greater loyalty,
and my health to better living
for my club, my community, my country and my world.

We're glad you're back!

We have had a big winter here. Our school was even closed a few times because of the snow storms.  Now it is getting close to spring and it is raining.  The snowmelt and rain together cause big floods. Many of our roads have almost washed out.

Why wasn't your summer a good one?  Was it too hot or too cold?

Ice Skating

Hi Ola School

We have been back at school for four weeks, having started a new year. The first four weeks have flown by, so we thought it was time we caught up with our friends in Idaho.

It is summer over here, although it hasn't been a great one. However we do have our school pool up and running, and have been swimming most days. We wondered whether you have a pool at your school? Our pool is only about 10 metres long. It is great for the Juniors to learn to swim, but not so good for us Seniors.

On Wednesday this week we went to a "pop up" ice-rink in our nearest town.

Have any of you been ice skating? Is it cold enough in your winter for the ponds to ice up and skate on?

Christmas Around the World

We have been learning about Christmas around the world. One of the ways we did this was by sending emails to people who could help us learn about Christmas in their country. We have learnt some interesting things about Christmas in other countries. Here is a screen shot of the email reply I got from Egypt.

I learnt how to take a screen shot of the whole computer screen and I learnt how I can select how much I want to screen shot. I did a partial screen shot of the email so as not to include the person's email address, showing good digital citizenship.
Are you guys doing anything special for Christmas at your school?

Question

We noticed that in some of your pictures you don't have shoes on. In our school and any public building, you have to have shoes on or else you can get kicked out. Do you have any rules like that?
